When was the last time you watched a film, had food and drinks, heard some live music and experienced an art show all for around $20? The answer is probably: never or a very, very long time. Well, we're here to change that! Please join us for a fabulous, joy-filled evening as we premiere Act One of "Bitter Melons", a short film about food, family and tribe. This is also a fundraiser for "Bitter Melons" in which we will shoot the rest of the film this summer.
Here's what you can look forward to:
"Children of the Diaspora" group art show
Live musical performances
Filipino & Cambodian food
We're calling this event "Children of the Diaspora" because our film deals with the immigrant story in America. We've come to understand that this theme is much broader in that we're all searching for a sense of community and home -- no matter our personal origin stories.
Come out to support a great cause and connect with others through food, art, film and music!
This event is a partnership with Reunion Chicago, Axis Lab and Filipino Kitchen.
